Fifty years ago, Korea was still depending on foreign assistance, today, it has become the greatest powerhouse in information and communication technology in the world making aggressive R&D investment in ICT including TDX, 64K D-RAM, and CDMA technologies.
Particularly, with anticipative response to the change in paradigm, Korean ICT R&D efforts lead the creative economy by putting R&D resource on convergence in the industry to help realize further economic growth and people’s happiness ahead of its competing countries.
IITP supports the efficient implementation of research projects at the research sites by systematically integrating the entire cycle of R&D in information technology reflecting the characteristics of ICT industries that have a short life cycle of technology changes in the rapidly changing market.
A virtuous cycle structure will replace the existing system so that outstanding R&D achievements may be actively utilized in the industrial fields through fair assessment and diffusion while creating ‘research-friendly’ environment for the field research workers.
In helping Korean ICT industries lead the global market, we will set the clear course for growing leadership that is distinctly IITP and the world’s top R&D institution in information technology.
Jae-bum Seok, the President of IITP
