My name is Hong, Jin-Bae. I am the president of the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation, IITP. Thank you for visiting our website.
IITP is an ICT R&D institute that was established in June 2014 as a government organization under the Ministry of Science and ICT to support R&D policy-making, R&D planning & evaluation, and expanding R&D results.
Information and communication technology have played a leading role in the growth of Korea’s national economy with the world’s known network infrastructure and ICT manufacturing.
However, our ICT technology competency level still lags behind other major countries, and faces a challenge to consistently foster personals to lead the 4th Industrial Revolution for this rapidly changing ICT industry.
To overcome this situation, South Korea’s only ICT R&D institute, IITP will increase expertise and innovate in ICT R&D planning, evaluation, and management and create the future growth engine of Korea's economy through securing upcoming ICT R&D technologies.
In addition, we will improve the research management system and the R&D process for researchers to encourage creativity, and create a better research environment where excellent researchers shall be rewarded. We will continue to strengthen the support for researchers who are capable of converging the software creatively for the industry.
IITP will keep on putting our utmost effort to listen to researchers and create a system that can collect the voices to reflect them into worthy policies and regulations.
